Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Director of Operations with a strong background in hotel management, specifically within the Marriott brand, to join our team. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of operations to ensure the highest level of guest satisfaction and profitability.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead from the Front: Actively engage in daily operations, spending significant time "on the floor" to support staff and interact with guests during peak periods.
  • Operational Excellence: Implement and maintain Marriott’s brand standards by conducting side-by-side training and real-time quality checks.
  • Performance Management: Collaborate directly with department heads to troubleshoot operational bottlenecks and personally drive Guest Satisfaction Scores (GSS).
  • Financial Stewardship: Manage financial performance by diving into the details of budgets and variances, working closely with teams to execute corrective actions.
  • Strategic Growth: Develop and execute strategic plans that translate high-level business goals into actionable, everyday wins for the team.
  • Continuous Improvement: Conduct frequent, detailed walkthroughs of all hotel areas to identify and personally oversee necessary improvements in service and facilities.
  • Mentorship & Culture: Lead by example; foster a culture of accountability and positivity by being accessible and involved in the professional development of staff.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure rigorous compliance with health, safety, and brand regulations through active monitoring and personal inspection.
  • Corporate Liaison: Serve as a proactive link between hotel operations and corporate offices, ensuring local execution aligns perfectly with brand vision.

Qualifications:

  • Proven Leadership: Extensive experience in a leadership role within Marriott or comparable hotel operations, with a reputation for being a "player-coach."
  • Operational Expertise: Strong knowledge of hotel management and financial acumen, paired with a willingness to roll up sleeves to get the job done.
  • Exceptional Communication: Highly visible leadership style with the ability to connect with both frontline associates and corporate executives.
  • Action-Oriented Planner: Experience in strategic planning with a focus on practical, high-impact execution.
  • Dynamic Problem-Solver: Ability to make quick, informed decisions while working alongside the team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or Business Administration is preferred.
