Job Title: Assistant Director of Finance (Hotels)

JOB OVERVIEW: The Assistant Director of Finance at MIA Hospitality’s corporate office plays a key leadership role in managing the financial operations of assigned hotel properties. This role ensures the integrity, accuracy, and compliance of financial data while supporting the property’s management team with timely, actionable insights. The Assistant Director acts as the primary finance lead when a property is assigned, overseeing the entire accounting cycle from daily operations through month-end close and reporting, ensuring financial records are accurate, reconciled, and compliant with internal and external requirements.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

- Assist in developing and implementing financial policies, procedures, and strategies to improve financial performance and manage risks.
- Oversee budget preparation, forecasting, and financial planning processes to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to senior management to support decision-making and strategic planning.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards, and conduct internal audits to maintain financial integrity.
- Collaborate with department heads to drive financial efficiencies and support business objectives.
- Prepare financial reports and presentations for stakeholders, highlighting key metrics and financial results.
- Manage relationships with auditors, banks, and other financial institutions.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) is preferred.
- Proven experience in a financial management role within the hospitality industry.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in financial management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- This role requires a candidate with significant experience in the hospitality or hotel industry, particularly in finance.

- Experience with hotel financial management, including an understanding of key metrics like RevPAR, ADR, and GOP, is highly preferred
