Accounting Clerk (Hotel Experience - Marriott Focus)

Job Description:

Are you a detail-oriented and organized individual with a passion for numbers and a background in the hospitality industry? We are seeking an enthusiastic Accounting Clerk with experience in hotel accounting, preferably with a focus on Marriott properties, to join our dynamic financial team.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of financial records and reports specific to hotel operations.
- Reconcile bank statements, departmental revenue, and other financial documents to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Process invoices, expense reports, and payments in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with various departments to monitor and control operational budgets and expenses.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring that transactions are correctly coded and recorded.
- Maintain an organized and complete filing system of financial documentation.
- Assist in audits by providing necessary documentation and answering queries.
- Utilize hotel management systems, with a preference for those familiar with the Marriott's FOSSE accounting system, for efficient financial tracking.
- Support the finance department with other related tasks and projects as required.

Qualifications:

- Proven experience as an Accounting Clerk, with specific experience in the hotel industry.
- Familiarity with Marriott FOSSE or similar hotel accounting software is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations in the hospitality industry.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and communicate effectively with other departments.
- A degree or certification in accounting or a related field is an advantage.
